OVERVIEW
The Attendance activity allows you to take attendance during one/more sessions. Learners will also be able to view their own attendance records.
USE CASE EXAMPLE:
Monitoring Mandatory Training Compliance
Scenario: A company operates an LMS to deliver various training modules to its employees. Some of these training modules are mandatory for compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, or company policies. It's crucial to ensure that all employees complete these mandatory training modules within specified timeframes.
Solution: The company uses the LMS to track course attendance for mandatory training modules to ensure that all employees complete these courses within the required timeframes.
ADD THE ATTENDANCE ACTIVITY
Step 1: In the relevant course, click on "Edit course material."
Step 2: Under the relevant module, click on "Add course content."
Step 3: Click on the "Attendance" activity.
Step 4: Give your Attendance Register a name and enter an optional description.
Step 5: Optionally, define your activity settings (you can always update these later).
Once you're happy, click on "Save..." to save your changes.
DEFINE ATTENDANCE STATUSES
Step 1: In the "Status set" tab, you can view and optionally update attendance types.
You may prefer to add new status descriptions, change the current descriptions (for example, by changing "Late" to "Tardy") or change the way points are counted.
Once you're happy, click on "Update."
ADD A SESSION MANUALLY
Step 1: In the "Add session" tab, you can add a session by setting a session date, time, and description. You can also choose to have this session synced with your LMS calendar.
Step 2: Optionally, you can set the session to repeat according to your preferences.
Step 3: Finally, you can also set student recording options (including scanning QR codes).
Once you're happy, click on "Add." Your session will then be shown in the "Sessions" tab.
Note: you can optionally retrieve and print/share a QR code for you learners to scan in.
