Assign Course Roles

Assign Course Roles

OVERVIEW

Course level roles can be locally assigned within courses to give users various permissions for different possible actions.  Each course will need to be treated separately.

Use Case Example:

Imagine you're a training manager in a large corporate organization responsible for delivering internal staff training. You have a variety of courses on different topics, each requiring different levels of access and permissions streamlining administration and tailored access, ensuring that users have the necessary permissions.

For Example: You can assign the 'Course Instructor' role to subject matter experts who create and manage course content while assigning the 'Learner' role to employees who participate only in the training.

ASSIGN COURSE ROLES

Step 1: Navigate to the applicable course in which you wish to assign a course role.

Step 2: Click on "Enrolled users" as shown below:

Step 3:

A. If the user to whom you wish to assign a role has not been enrolled in the course yet, click "Enroll users."

Search for the user, then enroll them.

Once selected, be sure to click on on the save icon.

The user will now be able perform the actions permitted by their course role.
