Bulk Add Users to User Segments

OVERVIEW

Users with the Site Admin role can add a large number of users to user segments by uploading a text (.csv) file to perform a bulk action. In order to bulk upload users to user segments, these must already have been created on your LMS.

Use Case Example: 

To streamline the process of enrolling users from each department into the leadership program, you can leverage Pluto LMS's bulk upload feature.

For example: If you're running a leadership development program and need to enroll participants from different departments, you can use the bulk upload functionality to assign users to their respective departmental segments.

This simplifies the enrollment process, ensures targeted communication, and facilitates progress tracking for each department within the program.

FILE FORMAT REQUIRED

You can use the bulk upload template attached at the bottom of this page. Simply add the usernames and user segment (cohort) ID to the template.

Note: The user segment IDs must be exact matches to that recorded in your LMS. This can be found/added in "Site admin" > "User Management" > "Manage user segments."


 
You can also assign more than one user segment (cohort) at a time. To do this simply add additional columns with the headings cohort2, cohort3, cohort4, etc. to your Excel sheet 

BULK ADD USERS TO USER SEGMENTS

Step 1: Click on (1) "Site admin", followed by (2) "User Management", then (3) "Bulk upload users."





Step 2: Upload your file and click "Bulk upload users via CSV."



If you use a Apple computer ensure that your CSV delimiter is a "," (Comma).
If you are using a Windows computer ensure that your CSV delimiter is a ";" (Semicolon).

STEP 3: 
(1) Preview the upload to ensure there are no errors. 

(2) Set the upload type to "Update existing users only."

(3) Set existing user details to "Override with file."


 
Step 4: You can leave everything else as default, then select "Bulk upload users via CSV."



If the usernames and User Segment IDs were correct, you will see no errors and the correct User segment assignments. Once complete, you can click "Continue."
