OVERVIEW

Group messaging in Pluto LMS refers to a communication feature that enables users within the system to exchange messages with multiple individuals simultaneously. It allows participants, such as students, instructors, or administrators, to engage in real-time conversations, share information, ask questions, and collaborate as a group.

Overall, group messaging in an LMS serves as a convenient and efficient communication tool, enabling users to connect, collaborate, and stay informed within the context of their learning experience.
USE CASE EXAMPLE:

Collaborative Projects: Group messaging can be instrumental in facilitating communication and coordination among students working on group projects. They can use the messaging feature to discuss project objectives, delegate tasks, share progress updates, and address any challenges they encounter during the collaboration process.

HOW TO SET IT UP

To setup group messaging, you first need to create a course group within a course. 
> Go to the applicable course in which you would like to create a course group,
> Go to "course admin",
> "Users", 
> "Course Groups",
> "Create group", 



> Give your course Group a name and ID Number,
> Select "Yes" at Group Messaging, 
> Save Changes, 
(You can add the rest of the detail later -  Optional).

Remember to enable Group Messaging when creating or editing a Course Group
Now that you created the course group, you need to add users to it. 
> Highlight the applicable course and say "Add/remove users",



> You can now select users from the "Potential users" table and add them to the course group through the "Add" button, 



> You've now added members to your course group.


START GROUP MESSAGING

Now that you have been added to a course group, you can start messaging. To do this you can follow the steps below,

> Go to your messaging tool (Right-top corner of your page -  the "message icon")
> Under the "Group" Topic you will now see all the Groups you belong to, 



> Click on the group which you would like to message, 
> You can now send messages to your group and also see messages from other group members.
