Sync User Segments with Course Groups
OVERVIEW
You can sync site wide User segments with course level groups by adding the "User segment members to group" enrollment method within a specific course. This will allow all members of the specified user segment who enroll for your course to be added to the same course group.
Use Case Example:
By linking the user segment to the desired group using the enrollment methods, you eliminate the need for manual enrollment management. As new employees join your organization and enroll in the onboarding course, they will be seamlessly added to their respective department groups, ensuring they receive targeted training materials and can collaborate effectively with their team members.
For example: You might create groups for Sales Team, Marketing Team, and Operations Team for collaboration and focused discussion.
STEP 1: SET UP YOUR USER SEGMENTS
STEP 2: SET UP YOUR COURSE GROUPS
STEP 3: ENABLE USER SEGMENT SYNC ENROLMENT (OPTIONAL)
Add "
User Segment sync" as an enrollment method to the specific course within which you want to sync user segments with course groups.
STEP 4: LINK USER SEGMENT TO GROUP
Step 4.1: Inside the chosen course, click on "Enrollment methods."
Step 4.2: Add the "User segment members to group" method.
Step 4.3: Link the user segment to the group, that you already have set up, in which you wish to sync within your course, then click "Add method."
The user segment and group you specified are now linked and members of that user segment who enroll for your course will automatically be added the group it is synced with.
