Create a Quiz

Create a Quiz

OVERVIEW

The quiz activity allows you to create knowledge tests by adding one/more of a variety of question types (multiple choice, true/false, matching, etc.) All quiz questions are stored in a question bank and can be reused in different quizzes within the same course.

USE CASE EXAMPLE:

Assessment Quiz for Compliance Training

Scenario: Your company is using Pluto LMS to conduct compliance training for its employees. One of the training modules is about workplace safety regulations. The training team creates a quiz to assess employees' understanding of the safety guidelines and procedures.

This is the list of different Quiz Question Types.

ADD A QUIZ ACTIVITY

Step 1: In the relevant course, click on "Edit course material."

Step 2: Under the relevant module, click on "Add course content."

Step 3: Click on the "Quiz" activity.

Step 4: Give your quiz (1) a name and (2) optionally define the settings of your quiz activity (you can always edit these later).

Once you're happy, you can scroll down and click on "Save and display" to see your quiz.

ADD QUESTIONS TO YOUR QUIZ

Step 1: After you have added a quiz activity to your course, navigate to that quiz and click on "Edit quiz."

Step 2: Click on "Add" to start adding questions to your quiz.

You can add:
  1. "a new question" to create a new question;
  2. "from question bank" to reuse a previously created question from the course question bank;
  3. "a random question" to define a set of questions from the question bank from which the system will choose a random question whenever a learner attempts your quiz.

(1) ADD A NEW QUESTION

Step 1: After clicking on add "a new question", you can select one of a variety of question types.

Step 2: For the question you've selected; give your question a name and text and specify the default amount of points the question will count.

Note: The question you create will be added to the course question bank. In order to easily locate and reuse this question later, you can select the category in which it should be stored.

You can now continue creating your new question by following the prompts for the specific question type and clicking "Save changes" once you're happy.
